![]() ![]() As children progress from 2nd Grade through 5th Grade, they come to discover what makes music a unique and exciting art form. They may even show you one of our many animal-drawing songs. They’ll come home telling you all about the ways that they danced, played instruments, and sang songs all class long. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade learn songs from many different cultures as they develop their singing voices and their sense of steady beat. One thing I love about teaching music is the way that work & fun combine to create wonderful learning experiences for all. Kathleen Theisen - General Music Teacher and Choral Royle School music classes, children…ĭISCOVER musical concepts by imitation, exploration and experimentation. We hope you enjoy our 2nd grade musical from May/June 2021 !!!! Congratulations to the students for putting on a great show! Video and audio editing was done by Ms Theisen in ScreenFlow software - often with 3-6 vocal tracks, 3-5 choreography tracks, Quaver backing track, and 3 xylophone tracks on "Zooming into Space." Since there is no choreography for The Planets Rap or Pluto Song, I included a screencast of the Quaver lyrics for the audience to watch while you listen to our 2nd graders sing those songs. Art 'backdrops' and backing tracks used in the video were supplied within QuaverMusic curriculum. We went outdoors for students to say their lines in front of Ms. They also played the xylophone parts for Zooming. Each class was also video-recorded (on iPhone or iPad) while doing the choreography. To create this video, each class was recorded while singing the songs. Recordings were made during music classes in May and early June 2021. This is a 'virtual' multi-tracked recording of JOURNEY INTO OUTER SPACE by QuaverMusic, presented by the 2nd grade music classes from Royle School, Kathleen Theisen, music teacher. ![]()
